Prof. Dr. Ari George Chacko graduated in 1985 from Christian Medical College, Vellore, India. He started his 5-year postgraduate training program in Neurosurgery at CMC Vellore, India in 1989 and graduated (M Ch.) in 1994. Since then he has been working in the Department of Neurosurgery, CMCH, Vellore and in 2003 he was nominated as a Professor in the said Department. He also spent 3 months training at Base of Skull Surgery in Hannover, Germany and 2 years in USA. A Research Associate, Department of Neurosurgery, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, USA since 1999. He has published about 83 articles in international journals and presented research papers at national and international levels. The combined experience of the past 20 years has allowed him to participate in numerous complex neurosurgical procedures, especially brain and spinal cord tumors, congenital brain and spinal cord disorders, cervical spondylotic myelopathy, pituitary tumors and head injuries. He is skilled in the use of endoscopy in neurosurgery and has special interest in pituitary and craniopharyngioma surgery, endoscopic base of skull surgery, vestibular schwannomas, epilepsy surgery, eloquent area gliomas, intramedullary spinal cord tumors.
